I recently visited the area around Ballinakill, and on a narrow country road (more like a track, and no dwellings in close proximity) saw a very unusual sight ... a tree with almost every branch/twig tied with scraps of different types/designs/patterns of material ... some looking quite dirty and ragged. Very odd and very 'weird' ... wondered if this was some sort of local 'custom' ... anyone know anything about this??
