Hi I'm new to this list. My grandfather Timothy Lawrence Maher was an orphan raised in Westmoreland county,Pennsylvania, USA. I have been searching for years trying to determine who his parents were. I recently discovered the death record of a Daniel Maher,in the general area where Grandpap claimed to have been born,and the approximate time period when he would have been born. This Daniel left a will naming his siblings as his heirs. No mention of Grandpap,however. His siblings were Patrick,Timothy,Honora,Mary (married to James Dunn) and Julia (married to Patrick McEvoy). His naturalization papers state that he was from Queens county ,Ireland and came to the USA in September,1846. Hoping to find any other info about this Daniel Maher.
