Dear Bob - I am yet another Mary researching the Kirwan/Kirwin family in the Tipperary/Laois/ Offaly area - I want to thank you for all the information you posted concerning this family - My family goes back a bit further John or Edward Kirwan married Catherine ? Thomas Mortimer married ? Kelly | | | | Parents - James Kirwan married Mary Catherine Mortimer children of James Kirwan and Mary Mortimer Kirwan Michael Kirwan - b. c. 1827 Roscrea - immigrated to the USA about 1849 [in 1850 census] Catherine Mary Kirwan - B. May 8, 1826 [documents found in OZ say born Roscrea, Queen's County] - Immigrated to Australia 1854 Edward Kirwan - b. c. 1830 - immigrated to Australia 1860 - killed in NZ 1868 All these children were single when they immigrated - We think that there were more children - possibly a Martin [I've just found a reference to such a person in all the old papers we have accumulated.
