    3. Hello fellow listers I have discovered a convict ancestor who was a native of Cork but his trial took place in Laois. Does anyone have any ideas on where this was likely to have been? The trial took place on 4 March 1840, he was James Downey and he had stolen some money. Also does anyone have any ideas on what newspapers would have been likely to have reported on the trial?
