I know that many of the Henry Cornelius's left the country for NZ and even here in the UK. The reason why I am focusing on Mountrath is because there is a family vault there of the Cornelius's. It would contain valuable information if I could locate it, such as wives' names and dates. We are also trying to find an Edward Cornelius - who might have come from Holland. He married Sophia Atkinson of Dublin. Yes, have thought of different spellings esp. since he apparently came from the Netherlands, but my search has come up with nothing! We had no problem finding Sophia - who lived to be 101! She's buried at St. Andrews Church. But again, nothing about where he is buried. There is a family history center in Leicester and/or Nottingham - so maybe I should try there. My main reason of coming is research, but that being said I recently obtained Irish citizenship from my grandmother Cornelius so my coming is a little more than pure research. How I wish I could live there.... Regards Deborah Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The 2001 electoral roll for the Rep. of Ireland gives only CORNELIUS,,33,,MANOR LAWN,,,,WATERFORD, and 1621 in the UK try the URL http://www.eircomphonebook.ie/ for the CORNELIUS surname throughout the Irish counties (it seems to be very thin on the ground) Liam "A bird in the bush is worth two in the cat" ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, December 05, 2008 10:54 PM Subject: Re: [LAOIS] Mary..Re: Cornelious : Re: Henry Cornelius b. 1820 d.1895 and other Henry's > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: deborahrea1 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.lex.general/2658.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Hi Jane, > > Thanks for doing all that you have done. > > I know that many of the Henry Cornelius's left the country for NZ and even > here in the UK.
