Some time ago I was in touch with someone working on Cashins in the Durrow area. This person said because of the proximity of the two towns it was likely my Cashins could have been connected to hers. This was conjecture only. I have very little information on land records in the area. My gggrandmother, for the 1861 British census gave where she was from. It is the only illegible word on the page. It looks similar to Ahenny, but from other information I have on her, she did not know how to spell so it could be something like Aharney. I notice an Aharney parish near Dysartgallen parish. I also know that sometimes a farmer's land crossed the road so his property was in two townlands. I have wondered if someone who is single would return to his home area once he left the Army. Michael became an out-pensioner (had asthma) in 1812 - discharged from Cork - and then headed to Kilmainham Hospital in Dublin. If he was able to get to Dublin, then he could have then headed back to Co. L! eix. Thank you for your previous reply.
