Marysborough - no record of name same Borris in Ossory Another idea that the names are the Civil Registration Districts within which they lived a radius of up to 12 miles from the named town. Often children were christened in the RC faith in the mother's Parish as daughters went home to have babies, sometimes 1st and 2nd children would be baptised there. I don't know the RC faith but baptism's take place quickly whereas the CofI didn't and you would usually see baptised anywhere from the 1st. Sunday after a birth and sometimes months later. Parish's changed as they would amalgamate and leave as the Diocese saw a need which might explain. Annette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
