Her father was George Neil who married Kathleen O'Neill. Her parents were William and Mary Anne O'Neill who were in the 1911 census as living at Pop Street, Mountmellick. George Neill had a brother Patrick and William O'Neill also had a brother Patrick. This Patrick went to Manchester and I believe he died there, at a good age. The other Patrick (Neill) I remember visiting as a young child. He lived, at that time in some sort of "home" near Mountmellick. He is buried with his brother, George Neill and sister-in-law, Kathleen, nee O'Neill. I know that the Neills lived on Hill 60. George lost both legs in WW1 and Kathleen died in childbirth around 1939. Their children were William,(Willy) Patrick (Paddy) (another one!) George, James (Larkie) Christopher (Christy)and the youngest, my mother, Mary Anne (Mona). So, you see, I know of at least one Patrick O'Neill and three Patrick Neills from Mountmellick. Hope this h! elps. I would like to know more about them myself, also any Buggys (mine lived in St Joseph's Terrace). My father was John (Jack), his siblings Stephen, Christopher, Joseph and Elizabeth (Bessie). Their father was Stephen and mother Anne (Nan, Annie) Stanton. I believe the Stantons had some link to Emo, but furthest I can trace is when the family lived in Dangans. Any information would be much appreciated. Many thanks I Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
