My ancestral ggggrandfather Thomas was born in 1783 which is a known fact. He came to PEI in 1818. I know he had a brother Benjamin, as he followed his brother to PEI in 1821. Another known fact is that they had a sister Margaret who stayed in Ireland and she married William Headen. I have a copy of a letter written by Matthew Headen, son of William and Margaret written in 1844 where he had attended the funeral of his paternal grandfather in Mountmellick and acted upon some land transfers on behalf of his Uncle Thomas. His letter was written upon his return to Dublin. At the present, I am not finding any other siblings to my Thomas, other than the two mentioned above, yet I believe that there had to be more than just a brother and sister. In corresponding with others on this site, there is a lot of common use of names in the generation you go back to. I am hoping someone who may have a family member who married a Haslam/Haslem in the time frame of 1800, more or less, stumbles across our search. I find it hard to believe that several of us searching the Haslam name are not inter-connected. The name "Joesph" is an example in my famlly line. Thomas's second son was named Joseph. Thomas's first son named his first son Joseph as well. (that would be my ggrandfather) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
