He was born in Co. Carlow (possibly Ridge), then lived in Kilkenney after 1831, Kings as of 1840 and still there in 1845, and Wicklow as of 1856, where he was pensioned. His last known residence is in Queens Co in 1865, known from a birth record of his son. He was dead by 1880 and his family had emigrated to America after his death (some had before).
