Hi, Listers... Does anyone have any info. on the influx of the French Hugenots to Laois back in the 1600's? Still trying to figure out the ethnicity of the surname EMPEY that we're chasing. It's a Laois family, but the name surely doesn't sound Irish, or German, or Scottish, or... Yet there were a substantial of French Hugenot immigrants to the area and there is a French name EMPIS.
