My great great grandfather is Mortimer "Murty" Conroy who was born in Rosenallis, County Laois 1830. His parents are Denis and Esther Conroy (nee Hickey). They were married in 1815 in Mountmellick. I was able to obtain the names of Mortimer's siblings from Roman Catholic Baptism and Marriage records from Rosenallis and Mountmellick. Their names are Margo(b1814), Matthew (b1817), Eliza (b1818), John (b1821), Elizabeth (1826) and Mary (b1832). Mortimer was a soldier in the 99th Regiment (Later transferring to 65th). He married Catherine Meehan in 1868 in Wanganui, New Zealand. So far I only have history on Mortimer. I am looking to trace descendants of Denis and Esther Conroy and hopefully piece together the missing links. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
