One of my wife's lines (the Bergins) came from Aghaboe. Her ancestor, Mary Bergin, was born in Ballycuddahy in 1867, left in the 1880's (?) and settled in Waterbury, CT. Her parents wer Denis and Catherine (Dowling / Doolan) Bergin. I don't know if they came here with her. Two of Mary's sisters (Catherine and Ellen) came to Waterbury with her, but her brother, Denis, stayed behind and died Jan. 1936 in Aghaboe. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
