The surname is mainly in Offlay and Laois. In Laois the name is spelt as DEVOY but is more often than not refered to as DEEVEY. Why I have no idea it's one of those Irish things. My wife is the DEVOY in our family and her people come from Stradbally in Laois. On her Mother's side, Maloney, one of my wife's cousin's married a McEVOY.
