On Terrence's military records it shows his name as Finnelly. i wonder if having been in the British military for a little over 20 years if he just stuck with their way of spelling Finnelly. Do you think writing to any of the Fennelly's in Laois would be helpful? I had contact with a relative here in the United States a few years back who said when a relative died they threw out the letters he had that were old correspondence with the family in Ireland.
