HI Christina, Thanks for taking over. My gg grandfather, Michael Dooley, came from Ballinakill, Co, Laois, to Peru, Illinois in 1849. So far my efforts in tracing his voyage from Ireland and trip to IL. have been relatively fruitless. My spies tell me that there are Dooleys living in Ballinakill, or nearby, who may well be relatives. My attempts to contact them have not been successful - yet Along with the Dooley line I am searching for Tarpy/Tarpey (supposedly from Mayo), Daily (Galway), and Carlin (Meath), and would be delighted to hear from anyone who might have a connection with these names.
