Hello List, I am new and am looking for any information on a family of DELANEY whose children were being born in the first decade of the 19th C. My gr-gr,grandfather Richard Delaney was born in 1805. Other males would have been James, Edward; females Mary, Jane, Honorah/Hannah, perhaps an Ann. Together with someone who could have been a cousin, Cornelius Delaney, Richard my relative, joined the British Army. Richard Delaney enlisted in the 59th Regiment of Foot and in the middle- to late-1840s married a girl named Mary HALLY who was most likely from further south. By 1850 Richard was on "The Voyage South" aboard "Rodney" and lived out his life as an Enrolled Pensioner in Westbury, Tasmania. What happened after that, I know. I'm looking for some indications of his earlier life and Irish family connections. Any ideas or help suggestions are most welcome. Yours, Julie in Frosty Lincs. England
