Hi Penny, My g,g,grandfather (I left off a 'g' in my original message) Edward Wilde, born Sep. 21, 1812, in Abbeyleix, Queens Co., Ireland, emigrated to Canada with his older brother Jonathan and his family. According to another researcher of this line they left Dublin in June 1827 and were at sea for about five months, arriving in Canada in October 1827. I do not have the name of the ship they sailed on or the arrival city although I'm fairly certain that they went directly to Canada (some other researchers of this Wilde family claim that they went to New York first but I can't confirm that). They first settled in the Township of Portland, Frontenac Co., in what was then known as Upper Canada. Later they moved to Camden Township, Lennox & Addington Co. Descendants of Jonathan Wilde still live in Napanee and surrounding areas of L&A Co. Hope this helps. Tom
