    1. Re: [LAOIS] ROLL CALL: WALSH, MORTIMER
    2. Lisa D.
    3. Interested in anyone with Laois connections to the above surnames. My great great grandfather, James Walsh, born 1827 in Aghaboe parish, married Anne Mortimer, born 1845 Camross parish. They emigrated in the early 1860's (not sure if together or seperately) and lived in Troy, NY. James had siblings Martin, Frances and Mary, who also lived in Troy and never married. Anne had siblings Patrick, Margaret, Matthew and John. John appears to have remained in Ireland, while Pat, Matt and Maggie all lived in Troy at various times. Patrick married a Mary Walsh, and Margaret married someone named Daley. Mathew went west and died at a young age from an iron works accident. James Walsh was the son of James Walsh and Judy Fitzpatrick; Anne Mortimer was the daughter of Michael Mortimer and Catherine Phalen. Lisa Dougherty
