Hi Gary, Don't think our Kellyey/Kelly's connect but... My 5th Ggrandfather Walter Kelly came to Camden, SC area in 1751 from Timahoe, county Kildare. He came with a Quaker Group but I've found no records of him being Quaker. I have a Family Tree Y-DNA file & searching for Kinfolk also. There ate two Timahoe's in Ireland the town is in Laois, Timahoe, Kildare is a village. Don't know but guessing that they are not too far apart since Kildare & Laois are adjoining counties. I have developed with our team, a tree that shows connections based in Castlecomer/Clogh, County Kilkenny, to Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA and some on to New York City. My earliest immigrants have the surnames Brennan, Cantwell, Campion, Curran, Foley, Kelley, and Walsh. Edward Cantwell (b abt. 1795) and Mary Curran (b abt. 1793) are the head of the line. There is a possible connection with an Ann Curran (probable Sister of Mary) and a John Shea. Most of the family appears to be hard coal miners working in Castlecomer and Pennsylvania. They may have been recruited for work and traveled in the 1848 time frame. The daughter Anne Cantwell and her husband to be Richard Campion, may have traveled earlier in the 1840's (marriage recorded in 1844, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA). Several in the family reported their names as Canfield in the 1870 and 1880 censuses, but reverted to Cantwell in later tallies. Please let me know if there are any possibilities to share research. Sláinte!
