Author: dancer1951 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.lex.general/924.2.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Yes, so have I, but it's still a lot cheaper - and certainly more convenient! - than going to Ireland, trying to find out if there are records and where those records are, etc. etc. so to me it's worth every cent. The way I look at it is, every hobby costs money! No doubt you already know that if you have James' mother's name, you can find out for definite if one of the James listed is "yours". Cheers & good luck. Colette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: StephenDennehy29 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.lex.general/2797/mb.ashx Message Board Post: William Kelly mar.by 1834 to Margaret Wilson somewhere in Co. Laois. He was Catholic, not sure about her. One may have died in Co. Laois before the other with at least 2 children immigrated to the Rochester, Monroe Co., NY area in 1845, probably settling in the town of Greece just outside Rochester. The children who came were Thomas W. b. 1833-1836 and Bernard (Barney) b. 1836-1838. I think these were the youngest children and there were older children named Charles, George, William, Margaret and Johannah, possibly others. I do know that both the parents William and Margaret were dead by Sept. 1849. Thomas, my gg-gf., went to Detroit where he married Mary Ann Fitzsimons of Co. Limerick in 1860 and had children: William Joseph, Margaret Johannah, Charles Patrick, Henry E, Lida Elizabeth, George Thomas and Mary Ann. Bernard enlisted in the Union army in Rochester 31 Mar. 1864 and deserted 10 days later at Elmira,NY;believe he went to Cal., probably San Francisco. My James Dooling was born about 1805-1810 & I haven't a clue (unless you believe in the Irish naming traditions) at to the name of his parents. Do you know Joseph's mother's name? If you do, you can confirm if these records belong to "your" Joseph by inputting her name. You can also search for any other siblings, plus the marriage of James Bergin to ?. Also, in Griffiths Valuation, there are 16 mentions of James Bergin in Laoise. No doubt one of these is "your" James. Good luck! Colette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Do you have pictures of the headstones or just a list of the interments at the cemetery. I am president of the Prince William County Genealogical Society here in Virginia, USA. We have several projects documenting county cemeteries. You may want to view my web site,(http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~vapwcgs/). Click on "Our Projects" then "Cemeteries" then "Prince William Cemeteries". That will give you a list and location of all the cemeteries that we are aware of. If you click on a cemetery and view the map, click on the little man icon on the upper left and drag it to the map some roads will be highlighted in blue. These are the roads that Google has videoed. Antioch Baptist is a good one to view. Some other relatived may be buried in Cromoge cemetery.
