Plus the "local" Church of Ireland church...I'm researching the Delany and Delaney Families, PLUS the many Families that they married (Haslam) and formed "Communities" with...What was the major "industry" that supplied employment to the local people? How did the population "spread"? In what directions? Was it successful 50 years later...Did the potato failure "affect" this population area...as bad as the other regions? Farming, herding animals? Textiles, weaving mills? Just guessing...Why was Queen's County more successful in its advancement through the last 100 years? Did it become a "spiritual center" of sort with all the many different Religious groups forming their convents, churches, chapels and schools...just wondering. Just found out that a local Bishop in the early 1800's was a major builder of Mountrath original Catholic Church & School. Bishop Delany...peace, jim delaney. Your only hope is to find a baptismal record. Have you looked for your family on the Irish census of 1901 (www.census.nationalarchives.ie)? If Ellen didn't emigrate until 1910, she should be there. If you find her, you may also find other family members, and most importantly, you will see where they were living. Good luck.
