Author: mrcrist_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.lex.general/2811.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi PeteG15 Yes! I would say this is unbelievable! Michael Finnell is a popular figure on Ancestory.com. Less than a month ago, I was in contact with someone named "Palmernurse1"on Ancestory.com, who also claimed to be a Michael Finnell descendant. She too, claimed to be descended from Robert. My G-G Granddad, would be John Finnell (1836-1895b.County Queen, Ireland). He is a son of Michael. Palmernurse1 also claimed Michael Finnell is buried at a cemetary called St Patricks, I forgot the town, in Illinois. Now, you mentioned a picture, yes, please send, so I can have an almost unbroken line of Finnell family ancestors. I will have to see if anyone has an old photo of John Finnell, anythings possible, right? Do you have a copy of the BallyAdams church in Ireland, where the Finnells might have attended? I have one, we could swap. Another Finnell question: Palmernurse1 mentioned that some of the Finnells changed their name spelling and went to Fennell. Is there an old family story here? Lastly, I live in Indiana, Michael's grandson, Thomas H. Finnell, left Illinois and came to Indiana around World War 1 timeframe. Thomas would be might great granddad. My mother would have known him. Thanks for the info, and a picture would be great! Mike Crist Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. These were baptismal records for his children. I also have a connection in the 1824 Tithe and Aplotment book (forgive my misspelling). I have since lost the website link to these records and want to re- locate them! I presume you've found Annie and husband Edward Griffith their children living at Ossoryhill, Rathcoole, Kilkenny on the 1901 & 1911 censuses? You will note that Annie was 40 in 1901 and 48 in 1911, while Edward was 50 in 1901 and 69 in 1911!! They were married for 25 years in 1911. I would say that at least one of the 5 daughters was called after Annie's mother, so that will narrow it down a bit for you. There are 8 records for children of the above couple (some might be church and civil) on the IFHF site and it will cost ?20 to buy them all at the same time. You might be lucky and find a WATCHORN relative as sponsor to one of the children. Do you know of this Carlow site? http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~irlcar2/Records_index.htm, Again, good luck!
