Of the 10 children, 8 of them became nuns/priests, and I know the majority of them were buried with their congregations outside Portarlington. The other 2 children, who stayed in Portarlington, were: Thomas Connors/O'Connor born 1860 (wife Mary) Annie born. 1863 (never married) Just in case you might come across them!! There are also records for the following McDowells who may be siblings/related: Anne 1869 Joseph 1869 William 1871 William 1872 Catherine 1873 Not given 1873 Benjamin Victor - twin 1873 Charles Henry - twin to Benjamin Hubert 1875 James 1876 Margaret 1877 Are any of these names familiar from your NY burial records? If so it might be worth buying some of the records (the more you buy, the cheaper it is) for parents/sponsors names place of baptism/birth. Good luck! I have lots of info on the children. Michael & Jane had a pub/grocery business on French Church Street in Portarlington from at least 1885 until their retirement c. 1905, when their eldest son, THOMAS CONNORS (O'Connor), with wife Mary, continued to run the business. I am looking for Michael & Jane's burial details. I think Jane died c. 1914, but don't know about Michael (although it was after the 1911 census. I imagine they have a headstone, and would love to either have a photo, or know what it says. Any kind person out there able to help?? Thanks in advance.
