    1. [IRL-LAOIS] Irish recipes wanted!
    2. Christina Hunt
    3. Hello there... I thought it would be fun to put together a page of recipes that we have from our Irish Ancestors. If you have a recipe that has been passed down from an Irish ancestor please share. You can post them here or send to me. Hello there... The last couple of Christmas seasons I have posted my good friend's recipe for Irish Soda Bread on my Longford website. I thought it would be fun to put together a page of recipes that we have from our Irish Ancestors. If you have a recipe that has been passed down from an Irish ancestor please share. You can post them here or send to me. The link to the Recipe page is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~irllog/recipes/main.htm Scroll down the page for the recipes. I will put them on a new page if the interest is there. Oh, why not call the recipe after the ancestor or location in Ireland they came from. The others have started out that way and I think it is a neat way to remember the people who you associate with the recipe. Happy Holidays, Christina Ninah@carolina.rr.com

    2. S. Mason at Purliemae@aol.com writes: << Does anyone have any information on Fountain Hill Town, Kilmaine, Mayo? >> S. Mason, I can certainly tell you where it is. It is less than 2 miles SSW of Kilmaine and about 3 miles ENE of Cross. If you're looking for records, there is a church (of some denomination) about a mile to the SW in Knockroe. Kilmaine has at least two churches. Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts

    1. [IRL-LAOIS] Delaneys
    2. Julie Jameson
    3. Hello List, I am new and am looking for any information on a family of DELANEY whose children were being born in the first decade of the 19th C. My gr-gr,grandfather Richard Delaney was born in 1805. Other males would have been James, Edward; females Mary, Jane, Honorah/Hannah, perhaps an Ann. Together with someone who could have been a cousin, Cornelius Delaney, Richard my relative, joined the British Army. Richard Delaney enlisted in the 59th Regiment of Foot and in the middle- to late-1840s married a girl named Mary HALLY who was most likely from further south. By 1850 Richard was on "The Voyage South" aboard "Rodney" and lived out his life as an Enrolled Pensioner in Westbury, Tasmania. What happened after that, I know. I'm looking for some indications of his earlier life and Irish family connections. Any ideas or help suggestions are most welcome. Yours, Julie in Frosty Lincs. England

    2. Michael Brennan
    3. Hi Everyone Thank you all for your kind comments over the last few days regarding me taking up the reins of the Ireland Genealogical Project's Official County Carlow Project! http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlcar2/. Of course you do realise that from now on I shall be appearing with my very large 'Begging Bowl' for any large or small scraps of info to help me build the Carlow IGP Project and provide you all with something to help everyone with their research. Over the last year a lot of you have sent me a huge amount of material which I have been storing. I hope now to be able to put this material to good use. So I hope none of you has any objections to seeing your material appear on the web site and of course you will be credited as the supplier of that material. So start looking in your 'Old 'Floppies' for any material you have on Carlow and send it to me (please avoid using attachments as my OE dumps them before they get to me) and hopefully I will find a little corner for you to occupy. Another important point, please specify in your email when you send material if you DON'T WANT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS PRINTED as part of the credit/s. That's all for now. If I think of anything else later I will get back to you. 3. Hello I am helping my brother in law research his family: FINGLETON from Maryborough. James Fingleton & Mary NOLAN seem to have been the first of the family to come to Australia. I cannot find their marriage here so they must have married in Ireland before they emmigrated. Their eldest child was born in 1874. James was a baker by trade. Any information or leads would be much appreciated. With best wishes Rosemary Rosemary Oram rjoram@austar.net.au http://members.austarmetro.com.au/~rjoram/index.htm
