I wonder if this could be a younger James, working close to where he met Margaret( she was from CT) the dates are close. And could it be that the older Julia was his mother. He may just have been born in Illinois, and moved east at a young age. There is no mention of anyone older in the home in the 1880 census. They were married in 1875, in western MA, but not far from parts of CT. I will save what you have found and try again in Boston when I am there. Thanks again. Betsy Horst
