Do you have any idea what town in Kilkenny? My ancestors are from the parish of Danesfort, town of Annamult and I've been informed that there is a castle there. My names are PENDERGAST/PRENDERGAST, MAHER, and FANNAN. My ggf left there and also settled in lawrence so I felt I had to respond! Some names I have listed as baptismal sponsors are Burke, Fleming, Bryan, Ryan, Walsh, Power, Clarke,Skeehan, Kennedy, Lawlor, MacDonald, Stevenson and Stanley. I have no idea if my ancestor came to join relatives or what, but maybe you may come across the names in your search. My ancestor Edmund Ryan was supposed to be born at the foothills of the castle. Not sure what that means but hope it is a clue. He was born to Edmond & Annie Marah of Kilkenny in abt 1879. He had at least one brother Richard who settled in Lawrence MA & was born abt 1877. Richard was married 2x & had children from both marriages: Peter, Edward, Catherine, Margaret & Rose. Edmond was married to Annie Sullivan & they settled in Lowell MA. They had 4 children: Catherine, Margaret, Daniel & Annie.
