Surnames: McMullen Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WWC.2ACI/3267 Message Board Post: My gggreat grandparents William and Margaret McMullen are shown in 1861 Ontario census and 1870 Michigan census with Ireland as their origin. From the marriage of their first born John H.McMullen, on 29 Jan 1864, in Ontario when he was about 28 yrs., it states his place of birth to be KilKenny county, Ireland. On viewing the surname index for Kilkenny I don't see McMullen. Does anyone know if that name is in Kilkenny and possibly suggest how I could investigate the family further. Their religion was said to be church of England but that would equate to Church of Ireland?
