Our James Baldwin had a son John, b 1772 in Bedford Co, VA. The next child was a daughter. Our ancestor is said to have come from Co Kilkenny, Ireland. Tradition/various reports says our James had a brother John. James' service with the colonial forces in the revolutionary war seems rather well attested. His brother John is said to have remained loyal to the crown and settled in Ontario. I have met at least two Canadians whose story agrees with mine and are said to have descended from John. [Perhaps?? John had a son in New Jersey??] Charles Baldwin
