My grandfather was GEORGE WHITMORE CARR (1851 - 1921) born n Dublin, died in Brooklyn, NY; married 1873 to EMILY SMITHERS ( 1854-1930), born in Ireland, died in St.Petersburg, Florida. Her father was CHARLES FRANCIS SMITHERS, (1822- 1887), born in London, England; died in Brooklyn, NY.; married MARTHA BAGNALL SHEARMAN in1844. Martha was born abt 1823 in IR, died 1897. G.W. CARR's father was WILLIAM PATRICK CARR, (1821- 1861), born in CO. Kilkenny.died ___, married ELIZABETH ARTHUR FRENCH in 1848 in Co. Antrim ( She was born in Antrim 1827, died 1898.) They had 7 children: G.W. Carr, Anna Hawthorne Carr - 1852, Charlotte Emily - 1853, Elizabeth Hawthorne Carr - 1855, Mary Meridith -Twin of Elizabeth,Edward Charles - 1856, Henry Gregory - 1858. William Patrick's father was REV. GEORGE WHITMORE CARR (1779- 1849), born in New Ross, Co. Wexford,died same, married CHARLOTTE SHAW in 1801, born abt 1785 in Co. Kilkenny, died 1848.
