I know them to be in Dublin the 1845-1865? but can find no trace of them. nicholas born 1845, he moved to birmingham england 1865ish, he is my g/grandad, oulaghan seems to be unusual name only nicholas' and his offspring seem to have it, I wondered if it is a dirivation of another surname, I heard that there were some oulaghans in kilkenny. can anyone help me? also how do I search to find out which ship he came over on especially with the difficulty with the name, I know about passenger lists but how do I do the research?
