Hi listers, I recently returned from a trip to the Castlecomer area, and was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled on the library on Kilkenny St. in Castlecomer village (the old Presentation convent.) They had the 1901 census of the area in book form, and also Griffith's Valuation. Plus bookbound copies of Deenside, the chatty area magazine first published in 1958, still being published annually at the Christmas season. They also have a great many books about the area in their reference section. The staff is helpful and the facilities are bright and cheerful (and busy busy busy with children, it was good to see that.) Their e-mail address is [email protected] Jack Langton
