    3. I don't know if this will be helpful to you or not since it may not be the right Delaney family but in the book "Land Owners in Ireland [in] 1876" which lists anyone owing 1 acre or more of land in that year are the following Delaney listings for Kilkenny County. Delaney, James M., George's Park, Kilcooley, owned 301 acres, valued at 256 pounds, 5 shillings Delaney, Dr. John, Freshford, 90 acres, value 42 L 5 S Delany, Simon, Bauntha, Callan, owned 6 acres, value 4 L 5 S Having said that, my great-grandmother was Johanna Delaney Young, born approximately 1854. She lived in Williamstown at the time of her marriage in 1877 in Gurtnahoe, Urlingford Parish, Tipperary. Johanna may have had several sisters, Bridget, Mary, and Ellen, as well as a brother Nicholas who were godparents to several of Johanna's children. Nicholas and Johanna's husband both were tenant farmers in the Lisballyfroot area of Tullaroan, County Kilkenny and her father's name was Edmond, the same as her husbands. My Delaney's were a generation before your James, which could possibly make them relatives of his father. If you come across a connection to any of these names, I would love to hear about it.
