Hello to everyone, This is my first email to this list and would like to know if any lister has any connections to the above. My g/grandfather THOMAS HOOLEY m MARYANN FITZGERALD in Swansea, 1857. On their marriage cert. the name of Maryann's father was TIMOTHY FITZGERALD,b 1784, who was a widower, which I was able to find in all the census of Wales, Swansea, from 1851 to 1871 and then his 2nd marriage in 1865/66 and his death in 1872. I have the death certificate which shows his father as REDMOND FITZGERALD, Now I have been looking in the Cork area as a MARGARET FITZGERALD, widow of Redmond, has an obituary written in the Hibernian Chronicle, announcing her death at COAL-QUAY, Cork in 1800. Recently, I found a tombstone of REDMOND FITZGERALD in 1773 at St James Cemetery, Mallow. This was in the Mallow Historical and Archeological Site. So now I am looking for 2 Redmonds! I have an idea that Margaret was the widow of the 1st 1773 Redmond but trying in vain to find Timothy's father and mother. I have seen a number of wills of the Fitzgerald Family, including Margarets, but she leaves everything to son John. I now have found a reference to a Redmond Fitzgerald will in 1873 and 1880 in Kilkenny, and this is where I am stuck. So do any of the listers have any connections to this famly please and if so, could you email me with details and I would be only too happy to pass on any info I know. Many thanks, Kind regards, Mary in sunny and windy North Queensland Aus.
