Hi , Im looking for my husbands grt.grandfathers parents James Welsh brn 1836/37 he came to england & then to scotland in the late 1850/ early 1860 his father was James also and both were coalminers mother not known this is what stopping us from getting a marriage cert. all we know that he came from the Kilkenny area or Carlow. Can you tell me where the Welsh mountains in ireland are also where is Freshfor.d Trying for info before 1864 as you say is difficult. regards beryl welsh

Hi Beryl, Freshford is West of Kilkenny City in County Kilkenny. My Great Grandfather Paul Kelly was born there. Have fun searching!
