All I know was that he was born in Kilkenny. He was ensigned in to the 16th Regt of Foot (Infantry?) and in 1842 was transferred to the Court of St James in the 5th Regt of Her Majesty. He was later in the Ceylon Rifles. It has been suggested that his father may have been called Willy and his mother's surname was Bayley. I would be most grateful for any leads. Thank you. Silvana
