I am searching for relatives of Michael Joseph O'Farrell , ( DOB September 28, 1816) who left Goresbridge Co. Kilkenny in 1842 and came to Montreal Canada on a sailing ship the Anne Jeffrey. He had at least two siblings , John and Johanna, who also came to Canada in 1847 and 1851 respectively. He subsequently married Bridgett Marshall, daughter of Robert Marshall and Mary Maher also of Co.Kilkenny ( Tullaroan) with whom he had three sons . Upon her death in 1859, he married again and had 5 children, from whom I am descended. In his diary, he cites the death in April 11 1851 of The Rev'd Michael Brennan, Parish Priest of Goresbridge and Paulstown , calling him the "earliest and best friend he had in the world". I would be very interested in hearing from anyone in the Goresbridge area who might possibly be related on the O'Farrell side. Allanah Nova Scotia
