Hi, Isaw your e-Mail and saw the name Walsh that you are looking for We are looking for my husbands ancestors the name is Welsh, i know that sometimes they would be called Walsh and then Welsh so I was wondering if there is any connection . My husbands ancestor was a James Welsh born 1836 to a James Welsh they were both Coalminers in the kilkenny area, i do not know his mothers names he came to england in the late 1858, It is very hard tracing your irish ancestor as they lost of paper workround about that time. regards beryl welsh

    3. Hi Beryl Unfortunately I don't have a James Walsh/Welsh in my tree. But that is not to say that there wasn't one. I am discovering all sorts of names in my irish ancestory where it is a possibility they are mine. I have most of my irish arriving in australia in 1854 but there are still some names I can't find in Australia. Edmund, Edmond, Mary and Patrick, are all siblings of my ggrandmother but unfortunately I can't find them on the same shipping list as parents. In saying that I still don't know if I have the correct ship because my ggrandmother isn't listed with them and it has been suggested that she was put with another family due to them being allowed only 3 or 4 children to sail with them. Who knows! It is a mystery still. I will keep you in mind if I find anything.
