Hi Maureen, I am looking for my husbands grt Grandad James Welsh born about 1836 in Ireland his father was also called James Welsh don't know mothers name both James were Coal miners. James Junior came to england in the late 1850 He married a Mary Robinson/robertson in Stoke on trent staffordshire in 1861 then moved to Slamannon in stirlingshire and raised a family they had about 6 or 8 children, he carried on being a Coalminer. I hope you can help us. we believed he was born in kilkenny or carlow, because of being a Coalminers but could be somewhere else (where there were Coalmines) regards beryl welsh
