    2. Hugh Masson
    3. My Mothers forefathers left Coolcullen in May of 1819 and immigrated to Canada. Now I have been reading a lot about the area of Coolcullen and find that it was a more recent settlement. and possibly our ancestors came to the area in their last life time. So I'm trying to find were they came from. I've been suspicious that they likely came from Wexford. But really don't know. The oldest one I know that lived there was George Kerfoot my G.G.G.G. Grandfather. He emigrated to Canada and died the first year near Ottawa. Have not been able to find his grave sight. I have one record that names his wife as Eleanor but no last maiden name.Any help in sorting this puzzle out is much appreciated. They were Protestant likely church of Ireland but they changed to Methodist soon after arriving in Canada. One other bit of family lore is that they left Germany spent three generations in Ireland than emigrated to Canada. So far I haven't been able to prove or disprove that bit of family lore. I had though that it might have something to do with the Palatines as the dates are fairly close but I've searched all the emigrated lists on the Palliatives and so far have never found any Kerfoot's. But of coarse it could be from one of the other branches and there are lots of Smith's. Hugh
