    3. Hi Nicole, I don't have the book you mentioned in your email but I do have "Tullaroan: Memories of the Second Millennium" Editor: Edward Kennedy and Project Co-ordinator: Edward Young (my cousin). Unfortunately the book doesn't have an index by surnames, so it is a matter of looking all through it for any Meagher's mentioned, which could take some time. Are you aware of any family still living in the area? If not, I would be happy to email my cousin and see if he knows of any Meagher's in Tullaroan, let me know if you want me to do that. What I did find quickly was: (1) A picture of the Tullaroan Hurling Team 1925 - it is a picture of the players with their names listed below. There is a Lory Meagher (Lory is male, not sure if this is a shortened version of his first name) and a Henry Meagher. The picture was fairly faded when it was reproduced in the book so I don't think copying it will work well. The book mentions that Henry Meagher has died since 1984 but doesn't give additional information. (2) A paragraph about the first Tullaroan Hurling Club Committee copied from the Kilkenny Journal archives, 4 June 1887 -- Tullaroan Gaelic Athletic Association. A meeting of the above was held last Sunday. In the unavoidable absence of the President, Mr. Jeremiah Kelly, W. Gaffney, vice-president, took the chair. Also present - ...H. Meagher... In a report of May 18th, concerning arrangement for the tournament, Henry Meagher was referred to as Hon. Secretary. (My guess is this Henry was probably the father or other relative of the Henry mentioned in item 1 above.) (3) Page 325 (list of clergy from Tullaroan area and brief biographies where available) Rev. Francis Meagher (1897-1971) - Born in Curragh. Ordained in 1923. Arrived in parish of Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia in December 1923. Parish Priest of Denilquin 1953. During his 48 year stay in Australia he returned to Tullaroan in 1934, 1948 and 1958. He retired in 1970. He died on 3rd May 1971 and is interred in Denilquin, New South Wales. There is also a small photo labeled Dean Francis Meagher on page 327 It is of a man looking away from the camera to the side, but I would guess him to be in his late 40's or early 50's, wearing glasses and his clerical collar. It is so nice to find some one else on the list with an interest in Tullaroan finally. I will see if I can find anything else in my book. I am research Michael Meagher who was born at Tullaroan, son of Patrick Meagher and Mary Dwyer. Michael represented North Kilkenny in the English parliament in the early 1900's. I am hoping that he and other family members may be mentioned in this book. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year to everyone on the list.
