Hello Listers This is my first posting to the List and I am trying to find information on Michal Carroll, born abt 1797 at Kells, and his wife Ellen Mahoney born abt 1804 , who came to Sydney in 1841 on the Bounty ship "Forth" from Plymouth. With them were their 8 children: Mary aged 16 Laurence 14 Catherine 11 Patrick 10 John James 6 Bridget 5 James 3 Johanna 2 They settled in Appin NSW, where Michael purchased land which he named "Appin Lodge". Three more children were born in Australia, Anastasia in 1841, Elizabeth1846 and Ann in 1854. Bridget and Anastasia became nuns, and John James a priest, rising to become Vicar General to Cardinal Moran in the Sydney Diocese. I can only find one marriage for the children in Australia, Johanna married Andrew Lycaght. The property "Appin"Lodge passed onto the Catholic Church when Catherine died in 1930.
