But, I would like to know what information I may be able to obtain from the actual records. All help appreciated. Mike
Hi, I am trying to find the place in Kilkenny where my gggrandparents lived. Their names are John Waters (b. 1817 or 1823) and Ann Murphy (b. Nov. 1825) Three of their children were born in Ireland (Thomas John Waters, b. 22 Dec 1849; Catherine (Kate) Waters, b. 1851; Mary Waters, b. 1853) and one was born in Canada (Anna Waters, b. 13 Mar 1856). Because of this information from the Canadian census of 1860, they must have immigrated about 1854-55. According to the Griffith Allotment for Kilkenny, the only townland that had both a John Waters and a Murphy (unknown first name) is Kilmacahill (Civil Parish), Ballinvally (Townland), Paulstown (Roman Catholic Parish). I ordered the LDS film for Paulstown, but the quality of the film is so bad, it is unreadable for the most part. Does anyone know if the original church records can be viewed either at the church or through the Kilkenny Architectural Society? Or if the film copy at the National Library of Ireland would be of better quality? Thanks for your help, Nancy
