Dianne, have you checked in the Castlecomer area. There are a lot of Brophy's in the cemeteries around the area. I don't have any in my tree, but did notice the name on my visit. Hi Kate, I'm sure the list will be a buzz with your offer of lookups and I thank you for your generosity. I do have a question for you, however, regarding the source of your information. I have been researching my family in the Parish of Callan and have the LDS microfilm 926189, Parochial Registers of Callan (Kilkenny) 1821-1881, on loan at my local FHC. The registers are difficult to read at times. Do you have access to an index or CD with this data? If so, how can I acquire it? Feel free to contact me off list if you wish at csaunders65@gmail.com. Dear Kate, How kind of you to help us this way. I am looking for a baptism for Walter Walsh/Welsh born 1820-1821 in unknown townland. He had a TWIN sister Ellen born on the same date. Unknown parents. Walter emigrated about 1848 to the US and his sister Ellen came about 1854. I am sorry that is all I know. All records state citizen of Ireland with no clue as to origin. A county history shows other Walsh/Welsh's coming from Kilkenny. Thanks again for any help you might provide. Cathy Welsh Mayfield
