    3. Thankyou Rick for all your information. This should help to narrow down the field a little. I did get Joan Reakes to try and help me with this many years ago (around 1984) and she came up with about 15 and told me that I would have a hard time finding him, but I will never give up. It has been on the back burner for a while but the research has expanded a lot since then and I will continue to search. Thanks again and have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 3. Can anyone please help me with this search for my GGrandfather. The information I have been able to find is very limited and I have come to a brick wall. John MURPHY, Born c1812, Kilkenny, Parish unknown. Died 1888, Cooma NSW Australia. Information gained from the Church he married in was that his father was James and his mother was Mary WALSH(WELSH) His death certificate states he was from Kilkenny, and that he had been in the Colony for 49 years. This would make his arrival around 1833, The problem is there are so many John Murphy's it is impossible to find the right one. He may have been a convict. I would appreciate any help I could get. 3. Hi Kate, I sent the following message to the list on the Dec. 8 but have not received any response. "I'm sure the list will be a buzz with your offer of lookups and I thank you for your generosity. I do have a question for you, however, regarding the source of your information. I have been researching my family in the Parish of Callan and have the LDS microfilm 926189, Parochial Registers of Callan (Kilkenny) 1821-1881, on loan at my local FHC. The registers are difficult to read at times. Do you have access to an index or CD with this data? If so, how can I acquire it? Feel free to contact me off list if you wish at csaunders65@gmail.com" I sure would appreciate knowing how I can access the source you are using. Your kind assistance to the list is really appreciated. I was able to make a contact about my Lonergan/Landrigan family from the information you provided. Mike

William and Anastatia as far as we know were both teachers. And last but not least Patrick Reidy(ready)/Maria Dermody union 29/4/1856 have the date from husbands police service records but not the place just Kilkenny. Patrick was a policeman in the RIC and Maria as far as we know was a teacher. The Dermody's were part of the Dermody "Masters" as far as we are aware.
