Hi Dale, it is a long shot but can you help with my family research. We have Dunnes in our family tree. My Grandfather died 1946 and among a list of cousins attending his funeral a BRIDGET DUNNE, SILVESTER DUNNE, PETER DUNNE, THOMAS DUNNE, appears. PETER DUNNE still lives in Monasterevin PETER DUNNES Mother was BRIDGID RYAN she married SYLVESTER DUNNE. There were THOMAS PETER MAUREEN CARMEL AND IMELDA IN their family. Peter's Grandmother was my Gradfathers' sister My Grandfather was THOMAS KNIGHT BALLYFARSOON, MONASTEREVAN Co. KILDARE. If you can be of any help I would be very grateful. I believe Timolin was part of the Parish in 1791. I'm told that there is no connection with the Castledermot Dunnes. Yes, we had a couple of drinks with Evelyn, who runs the Sportsman's Bar and a cosy chat. She kindly rang one of the local blokes who came in to exchange some of his local knowledge as he'd been born in the area over 80 years prior. Couldn't tell me much....his own father would have been the guy to talk to (!!!) but it was nice of him to spend some time with us. Drove past Kilkea Castle plenty of times. We stayed at the Mill House in Levittstown which is on the River barrow....lovely secluded B&B...with the ruins of the old mill right next door.
