    3. No Mackey or Carroll, but there is a Patrick Dowling. After the arrest of Thomas Fitzgerald (Earl of Kildare), Dowling was part of a group that tried to put together a rescue plan, but was dissuaded by Fitzgerald himself. And, "Patrick Whelan of Athy fought under Patrick Dowling in 1798 and was later involved in robberies in both Dublin and Kildare." There are still a lot of Dowlings around Athy, both alive and dead...     3. Okay, since everyone else is asking, any Keatings or Hylands? I've a John C. Keating who went missing in the middle of the night, estimating around the time of 1798. Both families immigrated from Ballymore Eustace around the mid 1800's. Cheers! John
