Hi all, About 1850 two CLEARY brothers left the Curragh in Kildare Co to be horse grooms for the HIBBERTs in Co Galway-Clare (a border place parish Inishcaltra). Very soon afterward, the Clearys came to be farmers in the townland of Cloutha (Cloontyconnaught, today is called Clounty) which is near Scarriff on the shore of Lough Derg, [directly offshore from this townland is Holy Island]. I suspect these two brothers had names of Michael, William, or Thomas. When I pressed my cousins, one thought the townland in the Curragh was a townland of the same name, but, this may not be true. Any advice gratefully accepted.
