Hi! I am researching the LARGE surname in Counties Kildare, Laois, Kilkenny and Tiperrary. Am also searching for KAVANAGH and BOWE in the same counties. Thomas Large married Bridget Kavanagh about 1820, I believe in either Laois or Kildare. They settled in the Castlecomer area of Co. Kilkenny. Supposedly, the families were against the mixed religion marriage. When Bridget brought the children to the coal regions of eastern PA by 1850, her son Richard Large married Theresa Bowe, daughter of James. The Bowes originated in the same area in Ireland.
