My experience is that the Kildare Heritage Center does not have church records. The Bishop refuses to share this information, you must go to the parish priest to look at church records. My family came from Crookstown. We met with the priest and he opened the records for us. WHen we asked why the Bishop would not allow the Heritage Center access to the records he said" there are still a number of families that live in this area. Some of these records might be considered scandalous" My family left in 1878! There are records in Dublin as well. All parishes were required to send copies to the National Archives or Library I'm not sure which... but you'll have more fun, and less hassle going to the Parish. Joe Walsh you know , life is like looking at a playground. You see fights, crying, screaming, laughing, and playing. Thats the beauty of it... in the end, it all works out.
